As you guys know from this post I’d had issues with my MK bag recently. I got a call earlier in the week to say that the repair had been taken care of and I could come pick it up when I was ready.
I grabbed it earlier today while I was up the city. I was happy to see that it appeared to be repaired. However the bag/dustbag appeared quite dirty, as in there was like make up markings over the bag and around the top of the dust bag was grubby. I wasn’t pleased with that.
Before Repair – scratch free
After Repair – scratched
Also I’ve had a proper look over it when I got home and I’m not too pleased with the key ring, when I gave it in it was totally mark free, its come back scratched badly. I feel like I might take it back to Bicester and see if I’ll have more luck there as I’m not happy.
On my little trip up the city to pick up my MK bag I dropped into Boots to replenish my make up stocks. Its mad I have so much make up but I always end up re-stocking on the same things.
So today I stepped out of my comfort zone and purchased new products of my classics that I’d run out of.
New Purchase £7.99
I’m looking forward to this new concealer, I’ve had many of my regular YouTuber’s recommend it as they had the wake me up which I enjoyed.
I have picked up a new mascara. I’d been using the Clinique High Impact for probably the last 4 years. I just felt recently that it was really, really lacking, my lashes just looked short and stubby, it seemed to clump them badly and I just wanted a fresh start with a new type.
New Purchase £6.99
Again this has been recommended by several YouTuber’s. I will be doing in-depth reviews on all these products.
Last classic replacement was my Gimmie Brow. I’ve been using this for goodness only knows how long?! I don’t remember its been years. However since the re-launch. I’m not sure if they changed the formula or not but I’m just not happy with it anymore.
Classic (mini) £5.00
New Purchase £4.99
I’m quite excited about this one! I think the colour will match my brows really well and hopefully give some nice definition as well as taming them for the day.
Two other cheeky little purchases were a nude eyeliner to hopefully help me look more awake. I’ve also recently fallen back in love with the bold black eyeliner look, so I’ve picked up a nice soft black liner.
As I have said I’ll be doing an in-depth review of each of these and let you know what I think of them in place of my ‘classics’.
We all know from previous posts that I like a little bit of Champneys. It’s a lovely collection with indulgent at home treats that really do feel quite Spa like.
This gorgeous taster tin is no different. It includes a shower cream, body lotion, daily scrub, body butter and a lofa.
The scrub is gorgeous, the grit inside is tiny and feels quite delicate, just what you’d need if you was going to indulge in it every day (personally not something I’d recommend).
The boy lotion and shower cream are both thick and creamy, the cream is a real treat in the shower and I wouldn’t say you need much of either to make a difference in your routine.
The body butter is incredibly thick and indulgent. I’ve been enjoying using this on more special occasions where I want something that’s going to pack a punch in the moisture department.
Whats not to love about Soap and Glory? Their nice price tag? Their fun but also classic theme or the products themselves?
I adore a little bit of Soap and Glory to indulge in every now and again.
This think, creamy body butter was no different, a lovely little slick up the legs, round the elbows and ankles keeps them in pretty good nick throughout the winter.
Their body washes tend to be very smooth and slippery in the shower, I enjoy the lather up they give when uses with a lofa too.
The also do gorgeous gift sets too, never a fail when their products are so versatile and usable.
Heathcote and Ivory Hand Care Kit. This was a delightful little gift that I received for Christmas; as you can probably tell from previous posts, I quite like to do my nails and care for my hands!
This little set was delightfully received and is actually really quite nice.
I’ve found the balm a bit difficult to work with, its nice when applied but actually getting it out of the tin was a little challenging. I ended up swirling my finger around until it had warmed and I had a good layer. It was nice but I didn’t think anything long-lasting to it.
I enjoyed the hand cream, this was thick, luxurious and a little went quite far, this swatch did nearly both hands and wrists. I will be popping this into my handbag to use on the coming winter months!
I’ve not yet had a really thick lather up with this but it’s quite pleasant, I feel it would be ideal for a handbag too. As you know sometime when you use public restrooms and their annoyingly out of soap? Yeah, nifty little thing to carry around!
I havent used this yet as I want to save it for a pamper night but it smells gorgeous.
The whole set does actually, I’d definitely recommend this as a nice gift set for someone, I for one can say it was very nicely receive for a nail enthusiast that likes to take care of her hands!
I recently went to a beautiful restaurant in town called Banana Tree which is a Thai inspired restaurant.
I did that classic thing of intending to take photographs of the beautiful food then remembering after I’d started as I was so hungry! However it was simply gorgeous and took some control to stop for a photo!
I didn’t snack on any of the prawn crackers as they’ve got a bit of spicy-ness to them, I highly recommend this place if you like spicy food too. They have a lovely Green Curry that’s got a little kick to it.
Oh my goodness the Pad Thai, was simply to die for. This was so incredibly mouth-watering and delicious. It originally comes all separately with a little card that suggest you mix it together to enjoy it at its best. It also come with a little side order of prawn crackers. I had mine with a chicken and prawn mix.
I ordered a side order of their satay sauce, for no other reason than I love it, this was really good as I used it to dip the big prawns in, I then drizzled it over my remaining noodles and it was divine!
I would seriously recommend that if you like Thai food and have a Banana Tree near you that you go check them out. I will certainly be going back to visit them soon!
Who doesn’t remember being young and going into The Body Shop to buy your first lip gloss, hand cream or musk? Personally for me and the girls I know it was that signal of hitting those teen years where personal care and smelling nice became important.
I like to indulge in little bits from The Body Shop here and there. I’ve especially been coveting their Spa of the World Collection, it looks stunning and from the little bits i’ve sampled in store well worth it, shame my budget isn’t so spendy at the moment.
I got gifted this gorgeous little mini set. It’s very simple, fresh, smells heavenly and the little lofa is gorgeous and silky, certainly not one of the scrubby kinds.
I really love the lotion, while it says whipped I do find it a little on the runnier side but a little still goes far. The wash is amazing, if you like mango it smells gorgeous, if a little artificial (perish the thought with The Body Shop!).
