The Dress

Oh the dress. Personally I found the words of advise ‘you just know when its the One’ so very true.  I saw ‘my’ dress a year before I’d even tried it on at the Milton Keynes Wedding Fayre.

Wedding Dress App

It was from the wonderful ladies at The Ivory Wardrobe in Woburn Sands. I booked an appointment with them a year before the wedding. Tried on ‘the dress’ first followed by around 15 more but it was just a no for everything else. My heart was set on that first one.

It is, in my opinion, a modern princess style.

I got my shoes and veil with The Ivory Wardrobe also. A gorgeous, incredibly comfy pair from Pink. My ‘something blue’ gem stickers was simply from Amazon but I felt it added a nice touch.

I am unsure who my Veil is designed by but I will edit this post as soon as I do.

I wish everyone the best of luck finding ‘their dress’ it really does create such a special memory.

Red Peacock Photography

Our incredible photographer for our wedding was Nicola from Red Peacock Photography.

She is brilliant.

Nicola specialises in candid photographing, she obviously does posed photos but her candidness is what attracted us to her. I began following her facebook page way back at the beginning of 2016, after observing her work for a few weeks, I mention her to MrG and he was more than happy to go ahead with her.

I arranged a meeting, she had our date available, so we booked! 1.5 years in advance. Nicola as far as I’m aware is being booked rapidly for 2018 already.

She made us feel very at ease, was a burst of bright positive energy when she arrived on the morning and began snapping away.

If you are based in the Milton Keynes area I would highly recommend checking her work out as we’re completely in love with ours.

Paper to Petals

From Paper

I knew from the offset that I wanted a ‘unique’ bouquet for myself and my bridesmaids. I trailed the internet for absolutely ages before coming across Lily Belle Keepsakes on Etsy.

I instantly fell in love with several of her designs. I contacted her and we spoke about colours and themes before she made me and the bridesmaids a bespoke bouquet each.

I chose a Cascade Tear Drop Waterfall for myself and a simpler version for my bridesmaids. These were brought two years before our wedding, kept under lock and key inside their boxes and out of direct sunlight. They looked just as beautiful two years on and its such a precious keepsake for me.

I paid half the fee beforehand for materials, was sent photographs when finished incase there was something I wanted tweaking and once approved I paid the remainder. They came very securely not long after.

To Petals

For the venue, the toss bouquet and the presents for my mother and mother-in-law I wanted real flowers.

I found the lovely Sharons Flowers (you can find her on Facebook only) through my mum and she was a delight to work with.

Incredibly easy to talk to and bounce ideas off. Paid around a week before the wedding as she buys the flowers as fresh as possible. Nothing was too much trouble and she did a beautiful job.

We went mainly for the beautiful and completely inexpensive option of gypsophila and in the toss bouquet I had a ‘beefy’ white rose, which name escapes me.

I wanted something very bright and happy for the gift bouquets and Sharon suggested sunflowers. I thought it very fitting and was very pleased with how they turned out.

We were very pleased with how all the flowers turned out and our guests really enjoyed the unique variety.

Miniature Michael Kors Update

As you guys know from this post I’d had issues with my MK bag recently. I got a call earlier in the week to say that the repair had been taken care of and I could come pick it up when I was ready.

I grabbed it earlier today while I was up the city. I was happy to see that it appeared to be repaired. However the bag/dustbag appeared quite dirty, as in there was like make up markings over the bag and around the top of the dust bag was grubby. I wasn’t pleased with that.

Also I’ve had a proper look over it when I got home and I’m not too pleased with the key ring, when I gave it in it was totally mark free, its come back scratched badly. I feel like I might take it back to Bicester and see if I’ll have more luck there as I’m not happy.

Mini Drug Store Haul

On my little trip up the city to pick up my MK bag I dropped into Boots to replenish my make up stocks. Its mad I have so much make up but I always end up re-stocking on the same things.

So today I stepped out of my comfort zone and purchased new products of my classics that I’d run out of.

I’m looking forward to this new concealer, I’ve had many of my regular YouTuber’s recommend it as they had the wake me up which I enjoyed.

I have picked up a new mascara. I’d been using the Clinique High Impact for probably the last 4 years. I just felt recently that it was really, really lacking, my lashes just looked short and stubby, it seemed to clump them badly and I just wanted a fresh start with a new type.

Again this has been recommended by several YouTuber’s. I will be doing in-depth reviews on all these products.

Last classic replacement was my Gimmie Brow. I’ve been using this for goodness only knows how long?! I don’t remember its been years. However since the re-launch. I’m not sure if they changed the formula or not but I’m just not happy with it anymore.

I’m quite excited about this one! I think the colour will match my brows really well and hopefully give some nice definition as well as taming them for the day.

Two other cheeky little purchases were a nude eyeliner to hopefully help me look more awake. I’ve also recently fallen back in love with the bold black eyeliner look, so I’ve picked up a nice soft black liner.

As I have said I’ll be doing an in-depth review of each of these and let you know what I think of them in place of my ‘classics’.

Champneys Review

bty

We all know from previous posts that I like a little bit of Champneys. It’s a lovely collection with indulgent at home treats that really do feel quite Spa like.

This gorgeous taster tin is no different. It includes a shower cream, body lotion, daily scrub, body butter and a lofa.

bty

The scrub is gorgeous, the grit inside is tiny and feels quite delicate, just what you’d need if you was going to indulge in it every day (personally not something I’d recommend).

The boy lotion and shower cream are both thick and creamy, the cream is a real treat in the shower and I wouldn’t say you need much of either to make a difference in your routine.

The body butter is incredibly thick and indulgent. I’ve been enjoying using this on more special occasions where I want something that’s going to pack a punch in the moisture department.

Soap and Glory Mini Set – Review

bty

Whats not to love about Soap and Glory? Their nice price tag? Their fun but also classic theme or the products themselves?

I adore a little bit of Soap and Glory to indulge in every now and again.

This think, creamy body butter was no different, a lovely little slick up the legs, round the elbows and ankles keeps them in pretty good nick throughout the winter.

Their body washes tend to be very smooth and slippery in the shower, I enjoy the lather up they give when uses with a lofa too.

The also do gorgeous gift sets too, never a fail when their products are so versatile and usable.
