Hen Do

whittlebury hall

My sister and I arranged a lovely visit to the spa Whittlebury Hall for my Hen Do. We had a spa visit, treatments, booked a room and stayed for ‘Ladies Night’, which is as naughty as it sounds.

We arrived early in the am and enjoyed the spa experience. I had a facial, fully body message and a thousand petal scrub treatment. They were incredibly enjoyable and seriously helped me to relax after our busy moving period.

The ladies night was so raunchy I’m afraid i wont post pictures as these gents let everything hang out, but i will tell you it was the most hilarious night I’ve had in a long time and i highly recommend anyone that’s local and wanting a fun night out to go see it when it’s on.

Altogether it was a simple Hen Do with really good friends, a good laugh and a nice place to stay and chill out.

We wont mention the copious amounts of junk food I absorbed the next day!

Soap and Glory Mini Set – Review

bty

Whats not to love about Soap and Glory? Their nice price tag? Their fun but also classic theme or the products themselves?

I adore a little bit of Soap and Glory to indulge in every now and again.

This think, creamy body butter was no different, a lovely little slick up the legs, round the elbows and ankles keeps them in pretty good nick throughout the winter.

Their body washes tend to be very smooth and slippery in the shower, I enjoy the lather up they give when uses with a lofa too.

The also do gorgeous gift sets too, never a fail when their products are so versatile and usable.

Hi everyone!

I hope your Christmas season has been going well for those who celebrate? I’ve had a really lovely one this year despite it not yet being in our own home, we were very close but it should hopefully be early 2017 when we’re in, we still don’t have an exact date yet. Hence why I haven’t shared.

What have you all been up to? What are your instas filled with at the moment?

Oatmeal Chocolate Chunk Cookies

I’m a follower of the lovely Rice and Dine blog. They post amazing, real home comfort foods that I adore.

All beautiful, look gorgeously tasty and several of which I’m saving in a scrap-book for when we get our own place and I can cook/bake to my heart’s content.

As I’ve been on annual leave I thought I’d try out their latest recipe which is for Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies as they looked delish!

I pulled all the ingredients out.

dav

As I live in the UK I used a converter for the measurements which was very simple and can be found on a quick google search unless you already know them. Pretty easy.

I found when getting my ingredients out that I didn’t have enough chocolate chips so I chopped up some dairy milk into chunks as a substitute.

Standard dry mix together.

Sugar and butter mixed and beaten well until it was as fluffy as I could get by hand as I don’t have an electric whisk.

dav

Incorporated the egg.

Next I very slowly, bit by bit, blended the dry into the wet using a whisk.

I laid the blobs out on my tray.

A real lesson learned here, Rice and Dine recommended to  ‘Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls, 2 inches apart’.

I didn’t have enough room for this and I really don’t know why I didn’t just do more, smaller batches instead of doing it all at once. Patience and hindsight I guess.

Next time I’ll try the balls a bit smaller with much more space. I would also recommend beating with the whisk a bit more to help stiffen the mix too.

My first tray came out great however the other two had melted a bit more and bled into each other, so I had a massive block of cookie rather than round individual ones. No matter as they’ll still get eaten and I cut them into square chunks instead.

I would really recommend going and checking out their page, again amazing food with different difficulty levels of cooking with printable recipes and instructions. I cannot wait to be able to bulk make several of their recipes that I’ve saved!

Head over to Rice and Dine for ingredients/measurements and let them know if you make any of their recipes!

Red and Gold

Due to the UK Referendum home is not a nice place to be at the moment. Its been filled with fearful, spiteful words. Family and friends divided and attacking each other on social media. I’m not ashamed to say I’ve run away from it, I’m already scared myself about the future of the country and I don’t need more scaremongering filling my head with more worries and the possibility of being verbally attacked by people I’ve known most of my life.

Internet

So I’ve retreated to my little corner that I’ve filled with things I like. I’ve decided to be shallow, play around with make up and ignore the world for a little bit longer as I believe that things are going to be hard for a long time.

I’ve been inspired by some ladies on instagram that do Lip Art and decided to take my own whirl at it, be gentle with me!

dav

I started with a simple clean base, with a lip balm bath then a basic foundation base.

Then I used Fleur De Force Starry Starry Night and applied a layer of gold leaf. I did try buffing it after to see if a more broken up look worked better but it just ended up bleeding with the gloss which I didn’t like.

Hope things are going well wherever you are in the world!

The Sims 4

I’ve been an avid player of The Sims since it release back in February 2000!

Wow I feel old.

The Sims 4

I’ve moved onto The Sims 4, at this stage of the game my favourite release has and still kinda is The Sims 3. Anyway.

I like the new features. Which include being able to build in bulk, ready-made rooms, styled looks, an abundant of add ons for looks and character creations.

I like playing out their lives, with their new jobs and the perks that come with them. I also enjoy that the jobs now seem to be more skilled based than friend based which I always found tiresome.

One of the low points for me is the babies, no longer can you see them from birth, through toddler to child, they are now babies for a few days then straight to child. I rather enjoyed teaching them to walk/talk/potty train etc and see what child they’d turn into via how much attention you gave them.

However I’ve got a few add on’s for the game which has made it more fun. I bought Spa Day on sale at Game. This is quite fun, you can place down a giant Spa in the world and your Sim’s can visit it. I loved this, the spa is relaxing and the different treatments you can get there is fun. I can’t seem to find any food though? So this can become an issue over long periods.

However I don’t know how entertained this would keep you long-term. I found it interesting for a bit but mainly use the at home add ons from the pack. These include meditation mats, yoga, sauna’s and new gym equipment which I’m really enjoying.

And I also brought Get To Work directly from Origin. This I’ve found really fun.

maxresdefault 3.jpg

Personally I didn’t think too much of being a Detective, it took far too long to do anything and I found the career progression slow. Theres a lot of loading screens because of having to go to crime screens which can be very boring.

Retail.jpg

I havent tried being in retail.

scientist-career-invention.jpg

The Scientist is quite fun, not to mention you can make freeze rays and such. I have been enjoying exploring this but haven’t advanced very far yet.

doctor

Being a Doctor. This is my favorite. It’s not quick, quick to advance but you can still get enough done to advance at a nice pace. There is more added as you go on such as the x-ray machines and surgery, I keep nearly killing people on the surgery table. Also the only downside I’ve had about this is that there’s a slight bug when you’ve treated a patient you have to re-admit them to the bed after everything you do. Unsure if this is just my game but it’s definatly a bit annoying as it cuts into your work time.

I would highly recommend getting this Expansion, there is hours worth of fun in it and I’m really enjoying it at the moment.

Do you play The Sims? If so which is your favorite?
