We all know from previous posts that I like a little bit of Champneys. It’s a lovely collection with indulgent at home treats that really do feel quite Spa like.
This gorgeous taster tin is no different. It includes a shower cream, body lotion, daily scrub, body butter and a lofa.
The scrub is gorgeous, the grit inside is tiny and feels quite delicate, just what you’d need if you was going to indulge in it every day (personally not something I’d recommend).
The boy lotion and shower cream are both thick and creamy, the cream is a real treat in the shower and I wouldn’t say you need much of either to make a difference in your routine.
The body butter is incredibly thick and indulgent. I’ve been enjoying using this on more special occasions where I want something that’s going to pack a punch in the moisture department.
While I adore the skin care of Chanel I’ve always found the majority of the make up and nail polishes a disappointment (cue me getting shot for blasphemy!) but that’s just my opinion.
I have 3 of Chanel’s nails polishes and their base coat. I’ve tried applications several different ways with different base coats, top coats, applications, thickness, thinness, letting each coat dry between layering, not layering, setting sprays. Just nothing seems to work which I feel really sad to say.
As a luxury brand and quite expensive considering its a nail polish I never expected them to chip and just plain peel off like they do.
Now I’d done this with the Chanel base coat, applied three thin layers, letting it dry between applications and then sealed with Sally Hansen strengthening top coat. I let it 16 hours to set and what did I do for it to peel like this? I had a shower.
What am I doing wrong?! Any nails experts that know these polishes well, let me know!
Whats your opinion/experience with these?
I am an avid follower of Fleur as you can probably tell from my previous posts.
She has recently released her new book The Luxe Life. A more grown up sister to her first book The Glam Guide. One that’s very much to my tastes. As much as I love the first I feel that this new one is much more in joining with the stage of life that I’m at.
I adore that its more about entertaining people, having friends over, making meals and DIY related rather than just purely beauty related. While I do love beauty I feel that my life doesn’t centre around it, as much as I may want it too!
She’s got several amazing recipes in this new book, for food, drinks and snacks which is always a delight of mine as you may know I love to cook.
She’s got some lovely hairstyles, one of which I used at a friends BBQ and got a nice reaction to. I am currently still working my way through so I may give a more in-depth review later on.
I was very lucky as I was able to order a pre-signed book from WHSmith, sadly she’s done her book tour and I’m not sure if there are any more available but I recommend if she releases another to go meet her as she’s just as lovely in person.
I was very lucky to be gifted a treat before my holiday by one of the little ones I look after (and their parents).
I’m very into my nail art and sadly due to having to wash my nails dozens of times a day I find my hands dry and my nails bend and break.
I was very nicely gifted Champneys Health Spa Luxury Harmonious Hand Restoring Hand and Nail Cream with SPF15.
This is described as a treat for the hands, nourishing with chamomile, orange, mandarin and restorative vitamins A, C, E and B5 for good measure. Your hands will love you for it.
It’s a thick luxury cream that I have to say smells surprisingly more of the camomile to me rather than the citrus, which normally overpowers most gentle smells. So good marks for that.
It’s a totally non-greasy formula that I love as well. It doesn’t leave my hands feeling like I can’t touch anything after, its sinks in instantly. I’ve found that it also give a nice sheen to my nails, I’ve been sick recently as many of you will know and my nails have suffered badly, I suppose to your body they’re not vital things to keep healthy at that time.
So I’ve been using the cream twice a day for the last 6 days and they are starting to look bright and healthy again, it’s helped the dry skin around the edges and my hands are smooth and blemish free.
I will definitely be investing in this after it runs out. I feel for the price that it’s a gem and an absolute steal to feel that little bit of luxury throughout the week. Not to mention the benefits that I’ve found to my nails and the surrounding skin.
What indulgent little treats have you been gifted?
I realised that when I do my wish lists they’re always about clothes or shoes, which is mad as there’s many things that I’ve looked at and gone ‘oh I wish I could have that’. So for this edition I’ve done a beauty/skin care list.
Long gone are the days where I can just splurge on these things due to saving for our home I can’t just drop £100 on anything. The few luxury bits that I have in my collection now are coveted and used when I’m feeling particularly flashy or want something that I know will work. So here’s my Luxury Wishlist:
What would be your absolute splurge? I have many more things that I can add to this series so I may broaden my wish lists. After all they are just wishes, right?
My birthday week has been filled with flowers, presents, food and nights out.
What have you been up to?
